The American Legion Post No.1 in Anchorage has raised $4,000 to donate to the Alaska National Guard's Operation Santa Claus 57th Annual Charity year.

The Post Commander of the American Legion Post 1 in Anchorage, Art Bell will make the presentation to Santa Claus and his wife, Mrs. Claus on Thursday, November 21 at 11:30 am at the American Legion Post One.

Also in attendance will be Col. Timothy O’Brien, Alaska Air National Guard commander, Jo Katkus, Operation Santa Claus chair person, Rich Owens, Tastee Freez owner, and Jenni Ragland, Salvation Army coordinator.

“The American Legion is all about supporting the veterans and the missions they have in support of their communities,” Bell said. “Operation Santa Claus is the perfect opportunity for us to support the National Guard as they support remote Alaskan villages during the holiday season.”
