The Anchorage Police Department released more information after the arrest of Bukurim Miftari last night.
After making contact with Miftari by phone at his attorneys office last night, Miftari was taken into custody and transported to APD headquarters for questioning then booked into the Anchorage jail at 7:45 pm. He was arraigned at the Anchorage Jail courthouse this afternoon.
According to the details released by the police today, a citizen called in to 911 and reported that a suspicious blue Chevy Tahoe was parked in the middle of fairbanks Street north of International Airport Road.
When police arrived at the scene, they found a bloodied vehicle and blood on the ground. After a search of the area, they discovered Kristen Reid, partially clothed and lying in the ditch with a gunshot wound to her head. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

A more thorough search of the area found some of Reid’s clothing along the road. They also found a handgun and the keys to the vehicle in bushes nearby.
Police also revealed more information into the lead-up of the incident today. They report that during the evening hours of September 16th, Reid went to a local nightclub where she saw Miftari. Reid left the establishment at around 2 am. Miftari located Reid at an apartment later that morning where he brandished the handgun and ordered her to leave with him. She complied.
On Monday night, the police followed leads that lead them to a residence just off the Old Seward Highway and Grange Street. When they went to the residence to apprehend him, Miftari escaped out a rear window and also eluded the perimeter that was set up to contain him. The perimeter was abandoned at 2 am after it was apparent that Miftari had escaped them.
Kristen Reid still remains in critical condition with a bullet lodged in her neck. It is unknown if she will survive the wound.
Miftari has been charged with Attempted Murder I, Assault I, Kidnapping, and Tampering with Evidence.
