APD is investigating a non-fatal shooting that occurred in the North Park and Peterkin area in Mountain View late Thursday afternoon, they report on Nixle.
Police responded to the scene at 5:20 pm and interviewed multiple people at the location. Witnesses to police that “a male and female were near a Chevy Tahoe at the intersection when a second male arrived on scene and shot the first male.” Persons at the scene during the shooting said the suspect left the area on foot after shooting the victim.
Following the incident, the female got into the driver’s side of a Monte Carlo and the victim got into the passenger side and they drove off leaving the Tahoe at the location. Nine minutes later, at 5:29 pm, police were alerted that a gunshot victim was dropped off at a local hospital. The driver left the scene.
The victim is expected to survive his injuries.
At just before 6 pm, police located the Monte Carlo on the 4100-block of Thompson Avenue. Both the Monte Carlo and the Tahoe were impounded as evidence by police.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adversal-468×60″]
AST is currently attempting to ascertain the motive for the shooting and are investigating whether the parties knew each other. They report they have yet to make an arrest in the case as they continue to investigate.
