Their investigation discovered that a 45-year-old California resident, Jamie Buntyn had been offering to purchase airline tickets for several individuals in the Healy area for reduced prices. According to the trooper report, Buntyn purchased tickets for several buyers then presented them with itineraries that appeared genuine.
When the buyers arrived at the Anchorage airport to redeem their tickets, they found that the tickets had been cancelled because they had been bought using stolen credit cards.
Buntyn was charged with four counts of Theft II, arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.
The investigation is continuing and additional persons are coming forward with similar complaints against Buntyn.
