A California man was sentenced in an Anchorage Court on Tuesday for his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy according to U.S. Attorney Karen Loeffler of the Justice Department.

61-year-old Sacramento resident Charles M. Ferris was sentenced by Judge Timothy Burgess in U.S. District Court to 48 months in prison for his part in the drug trafficking conspiracy that brought oxycodone into Juneau from California.
It was in July of 2010 that Ferris and his co-conspirators imported over 500 80mg oxycodone aboard a commercial airliner using a drug courier.
The investigation into the trafficking case was carried out by Port of Seattle Police, Juneau Police, and DEA.
