Stein was arrested in New York two weeks ago after she and her running mate, Cheri Honkala, tried to gain access to the Presidential debates taking place at Hofstra University. When officers blocked their entry, the two candidates sat down on the ground. When Honkala said that they were practicing their first amendment rights, an officer informed them that they were blocking traffic, removed them and led them away.
Stein and Honkala were charged with Disorderly Conduct. The two were protesting exclusion from the debates as well as climate change.
