It was reported by the trooper dispatch this morning that the search for missing Chehalis man, 25-year-old Alan Young is continuing in Southeast Alaska.
Young was last seen on Monday when he attempted to swim ashore from from an anchored vessel in the area of Excursion Inlet and Icy Straits known as “Home Shore.”

Other crewmembers attempted a rescue of Young without success. The United States Coast Guard rescued 47-year-old Sitka man Tim Lane from the beach after he had spent several hours in the water trying to locate Young while wearing a floatation device.
The search since the incident included efforts from the Alaska State Troopers, United States Coast Guard, National {Park Service Glacier Bay, United States Forest Service, the Hoonah Police Department, and volunteers from the SEADOGS.
Their efforts included numerous patrol vessels, aircraft, search and rescue canines, underwater cameras, and divers.
The investigation into Young’s dissappearance is continuing.
