Multiple calls went in to Alaska State Troopers on Thursday night at 10:35 pm reporting a vicious dog and persons with firearms. Troopers responded to the scene in Kodiak to investigate the incident.
The trooper investigation would find that 37-year-old Jason Humphreys of Kodiak encountered a pitbull that was owned by a 22-year-old woman. After the encounter, Humphreys got a .375 H&H rifle and went to the dog-owners house.

When the dog-owner answered her door, she found Humphreys there with the rifle demanding that she restrain her dog. The woman said that she was placed in fear by Humphrey’s actions stating that Humphreys pointed the weapon near her direction when she answered the door.
Troopers would find Humphreys and an accomplice nearby. The accomplice was found to be in possession of a loaded pistol. Troopers would a short time later, locate the rifle that Humphreys previously had in his possession. It was found in a separate location.
Humphreys was arrested on charges of Assault III. He was transported and remanded to the Kodiak Jail to await arraignment and held without bail.
Humphreys was arraigned on the charges on Friday.
