At about 5:04 pm on the Fourth of July, Alaska State Troopers contacted 26-year-old Dustin Kerr in Lower Kalskag at the request of Bethel Adult Probation.
Bethel had requested the troopers to conduct a probation check on Kerr.

Troopers, upon responding to carry out the check at Church Street in Lower Kalskag, would find Kerr was under the influence of alcohol, which violated his felony probation.
While being contacted, Kerr, who was holding a shotgun shell, reached for a shotgun. Although the shotgun was not used, Kerr failed to comply with trooper’s commands and Kerr injured a state trooper while resisting arrest.
Kerr was arrested on Assault III, Resisting Arrest, and Misconduct Involving Weapons charges as well as Felony Probation Violation.
Kerr was transported to Bethel where he was remanded to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center.
He is being held without bail.
