A moose hunter, while on a fly in hunting trip, located the remains of a badly decomposed human body on Wednesday.
The hunter called into the Alaska State Troopers to report his finding at approximately 10 PM. On Thursday, a Glennallen Trooper responded to the scene aboard Helo 2.
After locating the body on the west bank of the Susitna River approximately one mile upstream of the confluence of Tyone Creek, the body was recovered and transported to Anchorage.
The remains were turned over to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for positive identification.
Once the identity of the remains are determined, the next of kin will be notified.
