Alaska State Troopers in Klawock were notified on Saturday at just before 11am, that a Naukati man, 51-year-old Andrew Richter had been found unresponsive outside of his mother's home in Naukati.
According to the trooper dispatch, Richter did not respond to the efforts of EMS as they tried to revive him. They spent nearly 45 minutes attempting to resuscitate him with CPR and using an automated external defibrillator.
Also, according to the report, a small amount of suspected methamphetamine was found in Richter’s coat pocket.
Next of kin reported that Richter suffered from heart disease as well as high blood pressure.
The State Medical Exminer was notified of Richter’s death, and the office requested that Richter’s remains be ransported to Anchorage where an autopsy will be conducted.
No foul play is suspected in his death.’Richter’s next of kin have been notified.
