A Northstar Center inmate in Fairbanks died at the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital on Monday evening the trooper dispatch reports.
36-year-old Dustin Wallace was admitted to the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital on July 6th after becoming ill at the center. The nature of his illness has not been disclosed.
Wallace was awaiting sentencing in drug and weapons-related Felony offenses in October.
Alaska State Troopers are working with the Fairbanks Correctional Center investigating the incident.
Wallace’s remains have been turned over to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy.
The Northstar Center is temporary housing for minimum security prisoners located approximately five miles west of Fairbanks.
