Troopers in Palmer report that they responded to a residence at 1975 Creek Wood in Palmer to do a welfare check on a resident there at 1:45 pm, only to find an unresponsive female there.

The Mat-Su Emergency Medical Service was called in and 36-year-old Tammy Luther was taken to the hospital, where at 3:16 pm, she was declared deceased.

The State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage took custody of the remains and Luther’s next of kin were notified.

Troopers say their initial investigation at the scene didn’t suggest foul play.
