Rezanof Drive in Kodiak was shut down for an hour and a half on Saturday night as troopers investigated a vehicle/pedestrian accident, the trooper dispatch reported on Monday.

According to the investigation, 61-year-old Kenneth Cameron was driving a yellow 2012 school bus at mile 8 of Rezanof Drive at approximately 11 pm, when he struck 21-year-old Jamie Ponce Cruz, who was reportedly in the middle of the road.

Alaska State Troopers responded to the scene at 11:08 pm.

Cruz suffered serious injuries in the collision and was transported to the Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Cruz was later medevaced to Anchorage for further treatment.

Troopers say that their investigation into the accident is still on-going.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
