The United States Coast Guard has called off the search for missing Port Graham man, 34-year-old Ryan Meganack, after troopers discovered Meganack in a tent outside that community after receiving a tip.

After locating Meganack, he was arrested for violating his conditions of release in a pending Sexual Assault case. He violated his conditions by not been within sight and sound of his Court-Approved Third Party Custodian.

Meganack, a prior sexual offender, was due in Homer Court on December 5th for a change of plea hearing in his current case.

Meganack was the subject of an intense search of Lower Cook Inlet and Kachemak Bay waters after he was reported missing on Wednesday. Later Wednesday, Meganack’s skiff was located, swamped, with the ignition keys still in it by a helicopter crew. The helicopter continued searching until adverse weather conditions forced them to return to base.

The search for Meganack went into the second day with searchers combing the area and the vessel Augustine, with Wildlife and State Troopers aboard, searching the shoreline and waters in the area. The search continued until troopers received a tip resulting in the locating of Meganack.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
