A Grand Jury handed down 28 indictments for Misconduct Involving Controlled Substance II on Friday. They also handed down 19 indictments for Purchase or Receipt of Restricted Amounts of Certain Chemicals.
28 of the indictments stem from an investigation that began on October 10, 2012. It was then that the Hoonah Police Department requested the assistance of the Alaska Bureau of Investigation’s Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs Task Force to process an active methamphetamine laboratory that they had discovered in a commercial cold storage warehouse in Hoonah.
Three “One Pot Method” active meth reaction vessels were found in the raid.

36-year-old Oregon resident David Pierce and 49-year-old Hoonah resident Gary Chamblin were discovered in that commercial building and arrested. It was found during the investigation that the Pierce had used several other people to obtain the required pseudoephedrine as well as bought more than double the legal amount of the cold medicine himself.
19 other counts handed down by the Grand Jury stem from a related investigation that grew from the original raid on the Hoonah warehouse. On October 13th, just three days after the warehouse raid, a search warrant was executed on a Juneau residence belonging to 36-year-old Juneau resident Jennifer Hartsock and 35-year-old Juneau resident Benjamin Parson.
During that investigation, six “One Pot” method meth labs and precursors were discovered in the home.
Pierce and Chamblin have been incarcerated at the Lemon Creek Correctional Facility since their arrest on October 10th. Arrest Warrants were issued in Juneau Court on October 18th for Benjamin Parson ($25,000), Jennifer Hartsock ($20,000), 46-year-old Juneau resident Clarissa Paulo ($15,000), 24-year-old Juneau resident Lindsey Yandell ($10,000), and 29-year-old Juneau resident Danelle Barlow ($10,000).
