Shageluk Axe Murderer Arraigned on Double Murder Charges

Axe Murderer, 21-year-old Everett Arrow(Semone) was arraigned on Double Murder I charges in Bethel court on Thursday. He appeared in court via closed Circuit TV from the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center.

Dressed in a suicide vest, Semone acknowledged the judge when asked if he knew on what charges he was being arraigned. He said very little else, only answering “Yes” or “No.” When asked whether he had any questions, he only answered in the negative.

Semone chopped his mother, 46-year-old Flossie Semone to death with an axe, chopping her in the arms, head and torso as she attempted to defend herself. Semone also chopped his father in his back and head. Semone died shortly after, Arrow lingered for a short time, as villagers attempted to save his life, before too succumbing to his wounds.

District Court Judge Nathaniel Peters set bail at $500,000 and a court approved third party custodian. Semone will be given a public defender.

The bodies of John Arrow and Flossie Semone were sent to Anchorage for autopsy.
