Small Aircraft Crashes North of Talkeetna During ‘Touch and Goes”

image08-04-2015 09.03.54Troopers reported that they were informed of a airplane crash fifty  miles north of Talkeetna on Sunday afternoon,the aircraft involved suffered significant damage.

According to the trooper dispatch, they were informed at 7:10 pm on Sunday that an aircraft, a 1957 Piper PA-22-150, flown by Trevor Jones, had made a forced landing on a hillside, approximately 50 miles north of Talkeetna at about 5 pm that afternoon.

Jones and his unidentified passenger had been practicing “touch and goes” when the aircraft encountered engine problems and Jones put it down on a hillside.

Jones suffered no injuries in the incident. His unidentified passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries, and was transported to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The aircraft was left at the scene.

The National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA were notified of the incident, troopers say.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
