On Sunday night troopers went to a residence on Gaswell Road in Soldotna and contacted a man who had an active warrant for failing to comply with his conditions of release while on probation for the original charge of MICS IV. When contacted, the man identified as 26-year-old Joseph Freel, attempted to flee, troopers report.

His attempt to elude the officers was unsuccessful however and Freel was transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility. While being processed at the facility, it was found that Freel had Methamphetamine concealed on his person.

As a result of the discovery, Freel was also charged with MICS IV and Promoting Contraband I. Freel was held without bail at the facility pending arraignment.
