HEADQUARTERS, U.S. ARMY ALASKA, JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska – Elements of the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division will conduct a mass tactical airborne assault training event, otherwise known as a Joint Forcible Entry Exercise, onto Donnelly Drop Zone near Delta Junction, Alaska, on Wednesday, Oct. 12, between 4:10 p.m. and 5:40 p.m.
The jump will feature more than 750 paratroopers, primarily from 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment and the Spartan Brigade headquarters element, exiting an array of eleven C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster III aircraft from the U.S. Air Force, Royal New Zealand Air Force and Republic of Korea Air Force.
The October 12 JFEX will be the first of two key airborne training events as part of Exercise Spartan Cerberus, a brigade-level field training exercise that begins October 11 and concludes October 28.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
