Alaska State Troopers were patrolling on the Glenn Highway on Saturday morning when a 2014 Toyota Tundra blew past them at 110 miles per hour in the 65 mile per hour zone of the highway near the Old Glenn Highway.
Troopers took up the chase and attempted to bring the vehicle to a stop as the vehicle continued through the interchange onto the Parks Highway northbound.
Wasilla Police also responded and deployed spike strips in the path of the speeding vehicle, the deployment was successful and the Toyota’s tires were deflated.
Th driver of the vehicle came to a stop in the Walgreen’s parking lot and the driver exited the vehicle with the intentions of making a break for it. Wasilla police released a K-9 and the driver was detained.
Authorities would identify the driver of the vehicle as 28-year-old Anchorage resident Jason Isenberg and he was promptly arrested for Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer I, Assault III, Reckless Driving, Driving Under the Influence, Disorderly Conduct, and Driving with a Revoked License. Further investigation would find that the vehicle that Isenberg was driving was reported stolen from Anchorage, Isenberg was subsequently charged with Vehicle Theft I as well.
Isenberg was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded without bail.
