Alaska State Troopers responded to the scene in Sterling after receiving a report of a man lying in the middle of the road there. It was reported that the man in the road had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
When troopers arrived, they found that the fatal wound appeared to be self-inflicted. Investigators do not believe foul play played a part in McMillan’s death.
19-year-old Adam P. McMillan was pronounced dead at the scene and his remains were transported to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy via Peninsula Memorial Services.
McMillan’s next of kin were notified.
