A Wednesday evening, two vehicle, head-on collision, took the life of a Sutton man, the Trooper Dispatch reported.
Alaska State Troopers responded to the collision at mile 63 of the Glenn Highway in Sutton at 6:25 PM Wednesday evening, and initiated an investigation into the crash. According to the investigation, 45-year-old Gene Boyda was headed southbound on the highway as 24-year-old Dustin P. Lakey was headed northbound in his 2008 Ford Ranger pickup. The investigation found that the two vehicles collided head-on over the center line of the highway.
Lakey, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Boyda was transported to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center serious injuries.
The State Medical Examiner also responded to the scene, and transported Lakey’s remains to their office or autopsy.
Lakey’s next of kin were notified of the incident in the continuing investigation.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
