Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a green Ford F250 for littering along the Parks Highway near Trunk Road near Palmer on Sunday evening at 5:33 pm.
After the stop, troopers discovered that the driver, 28-year-old Dana Holzworth was driving with his license revoked. As the contact continued, troopers revealed that Holzworth failed to notify the troopers that he possessed a handgun at the time of the traffic stop. Holzworth was also in possession of methamphetamine and diazapam pills, and a rifle with a prohibited/illegal home-made silencer.
Holzworth was arrested for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance V, Misconduct Involving Weapons II, Misconduct Involving Weapons III, Misconduct Involving Weapons IV, Misconduct Involving Weapons V, and Driving with License Revoked.
During the stop, troopers contacted the passengers as well. Troopers found that a passenger in the vehicle, 25-year-old Palmer resident, Mark Tyree, also failed to notify the officers that he possessed a handgun. He was also found to be in possession of Methamphetamine and Heroin. He was arrested on charges of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV x2, Misconduct Involving Weapons II, and Misconduct Involving Weapons V.
32-year-old Anchorage resident Mark Komoroeski was found to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest for Felony Theft and Forgery.
All three were transported to the Mat-su Pretrial Facility and remanded there. Holzworth and Tyree were held without bail pending arraignment, Komorowski’s bail was set at $11,000.
