The Alaska State Troopers report two arrests in the community of Old Harbor on Kodiak Island after a report of an assault that took place there on Monday morning.
A call went in to the Old Harbor VPSO early Monday morning at 2:45 am according to trooper dispatch. In turn, the troopers were notified of the incident in the village. Troopers responded to the village to assist.
When troopers arrived, their investigation, along with the VPSO’s, found that 20-year-old Gwendolyn Christiansen and 46-year-old Rolf Christiansen, both of Old Harbor, had assaulted a 28-year-old Old Harbor resident by punching and biting the victim repeatedly.
According to the report, the victim had attempted to call her family members during the assault, but her phone was broken.
The victim was taken to the Village Clinic where the Health Aide treated her for her injuries.
Alaska State Troopers took custody of a small, three-year-old child who was at the residence at the time of the incident, and the Office of Children’s Services was notified. A parent from the village of Port Lions flew to Old Harbor to take custody of the child.
Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Kodiak Jail and remanded there. Gwendolyn Christiansen was charged with Felony DV Assault III, and Rolf Christiansen was charged with Misdemeanor DV Assault IV and Criminal Mischief IV.
Both suspects were arraigned on the charges on Tuesday afternoon.
