Their investigation indicated that a silver Toyota Corrola driven by 51-year-old Utah resident Kelly Hicks was travelling northbound when the vehicle crossed the centerline and side-swiped a southbound 2007 Coachman motorhome driven by 55-year-old Michigan resident Daniel Hardy.
The drivers-side of each vehicle was torn open by the impact during the crash.
Kelly Hicks was severely injured in the crash and was transported to Homer’s South Peninsula Hospital for possible life-threatening injuries. His passenger, 48-year-old Lisa Hicks as well as Daniel Hardy, and Hardy’s passenger Kimela Hardy, age 56, were also transported to the South Peninsula Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation at the scene kept one lane of the highway closed, hindering traffic, while on-scene measurements and the investigation continued.
The scene was cleared and normal traffic resumed at 7:30 pm.
