Alaska State Troopers, with the BHP, while on patrol, pulled over a vehicle in a traffic stop at 1:32 pm on Saturday only to catch a burglar that they had been looking for.
Troopers pulled over a vehicle on Saturday and contacted the driver, who identified himself as Josh Jenk. Troopers would correctly identify the drive through investigation and find him to be 34-year-old Jonathan Ashburn of Wasilla however.
Once correctly identified, Ashburn was arrested for a parole violation warrant on the original charge of Robbery II. Ashburn was taken to the Criminal Suppression Unit, where he was interviewed concerning his part in a November 17th burglary at Eagle Eye Storage in Wasilla.
During the interview, Ashburn would admit to the burglary and stealing approximately $4,750 worth of music equipment.
Ashburn was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded for the arrest warrrant as well as additional charges of Burglary and Theft and his bail was set at $10,000.
