Wasilla Man Arrested on Multiple Charges after Attempted Break-In

burglary investigationAlaska State Troopers say that drugs and alcohol were a factor in an early evening disturbance on North Bald Eagle Drive in Wasilla on Wednesday.

Troopers received a disturbance call at 5:50 pm on Wednesday concerning two neighbors at a residence at that location. When troopers responded and began their investigation, it revealed that 32-year-old Jordan A Yancey of Wasilla was responsible for approximately $1,500 damage to a neighbor’s residence and motor-home when he tried to break in. The neighbor was home at the time.

When troopers attempted to arrest Yancey on charges, Yancey challenged troopers to a fight and “wielded a shovel in a manner which placed Troopers in fear of being injured/killed,” the trooper dispatch reported.

But, Yancey was arrested at the scene without injury, and charged with Felony Assault III x3, Felony Criminal Mischief III, Attempted Burglary I, Criminal Trespass I, and Disorderly Conduct. He was transported to Palmer, where he was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility, he was held on $1,000 bail and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.

Yancey is scheduled to be arraigned in Palmer Court on Thursday afternoon.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
