38-year-old Wasilla resident John William Wysong died of injuries he received on October 17th on Pond Lily Street.

That night, shortly after 9 pm, Wysong was operating his 2003 Honda XR400R motorcycle south on Pond Lily Street when a moose calf entered the roadway in front of him causing a collision. Troopers responded to the report.

Wysong was transported by Life-Med helicopter to Anchorage Providence hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

Despite treatment for the trauma incurred in the accident, Wysong died as a result of his injuries at Providence hospital on Monday.

Next of kin were notified and the State Medical Examiner turned his body over to his family.

Wysong was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
