During the early morning hours of Tuesday, at 2:25 am, Alaska State Troopers went to a residence off of Fairview Loop in Wasilla in an attempt to arrest 22-year-old Wasilla resident Caton W. Hislop. Hislop had a $20,000 arrest warrant for failure to comply with probation conditions for an original charge of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV.
When the troopers attempted to contact Hislop, Hislop barricaded himself inside the residence and refused to come out.
Hislop remained in the residence for three hours before finally giving himself up. He was arrested without incident.

Further investigation at the scene revealed that Hislop had in his possession, two handguns, Hislop, as a convicted felon is barred from possession of firearms.
Hislop was taken to the Mat-Su Pretrial for remand. At the facility, Hislop attempted to conceal a controlled substance on his person to take into the facility.
Hislop was charged with Misconduct Involving Weapons III x2, Promoting Contraband I, and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance VI. Hislop’s bail was set at $20,000 cash only bail.
