On Friday afternoon, Alaska State Troopers with the Bureau of Highway Patrol pulled over a red and white 1991 GMC Sonoma at Hollywood Road and Preston Hills Drive for a moving violation.
When questioning the friver, he gave a false name. Troopers would eventually determine the driver’s true identity as that of Dustin Simpson age 29 of Willow. They would find that he was driving on a suspended license. He was also in possession of a Controlled Substance, and driving without a seatbelt.
Further investigation would find that Simpson was also wanted on an extraditable warrant for leaving the scene of an injury accident in the state of Idaho.
Simpson was arrested for being a Fugitive from Justice, Driving with a Suspended License, False Information and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance VI.
Simpson was transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer and his bail was set at $40,750.
