Alaska State Troopers responded to Vaughn’s Mini Mart at 43335 K-Beach Road on Tuesday morning to investigate a report of an unconscious woman at that location.

When troopers arrived at the scene at just after 6:30 am, they found that the door to the business was locked with the unconscious woman inside. Troopers gained entrance by breaking the glass of the front door.

EMS also responded to the scene and attempted CPR, but the woman, identified as 53-year-old Kenai resident Lenora A. Meehan, did not respond to the EMS attempts to revive her and she was pronounced deceased at 6:46 am.

The trooper investigation at the scene determined that Meehan was in the process of opening up the store when she died of natural causes.

Meehan’s next of kin were notified of her death.
