On Sunday troopers responded to mile 50 of the Parks Highway after receiving a 911 call reporting a motorist passed out behind the wheel in a homeowner’s driveway.
According to the trooper dispatch, the trooper investigation at the scene revealed that 22-year-old Phillip Seal of Big Lake had been traveling southbound on the Parks Highway while under the influence, when he left the roadway, crossed the bike path and struck a telephone pole and a telephone line box.
Seal’s vehicle kept going, went through a driveway, and struck a second telephone pole, knocking it down.
After the incident, “Seal parked his vehicle next to the homeowner’s vehicle and passed out in the driver’s seat.” according to the dispatch.
The caller informed troopers that they had attempted to wake up the driver of the vehicle, but were unable to do so.
Troopers woke up the sleeping Seal and charged him with DUI and Failure to Give Immediate Notice of an Accident.
Seal was arrested and transported to the mat Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded with his bail set at at $2,000 and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.
