A Soldotna victim is offering a reward for a safe stolen from his residence in that community after a burglary that took place there on June 30th, troopers report.
On June 30th, the victim called troopers to report that someone that he knew had burglarized his home and had stolen a laptop, tablet, camera, MP3 player, rings, and his safe, which contained valuable personal papers, which included his birth certificate that was issued in the days before Alaska statehood.
On July 3rd, Soldotna Police received a REDDI report at 5:05 pm. They would make contact with the suspect vehicle on Birch Street in Soldotna. Troopers responded to the scene as well, as a result, 25-year-old George Larson and 21-year-old Holli Driver, both of Nikiski, were arrested at the scene for the burglary case. Both individuals were transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility and remanded there on Burglary I and Theft II charges. Larson was also charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV.
The suspect’s vehicle was impounded to await a search warrant. After the warrant was issued, the search of the vehicle would result in further charges of Theft II, MICS IV x2, and MICS II and III.
Most of the stolen from the Soldotna man’s home were returned to him, but the safe was not recovered.
