Wasilla Woman Arrested after Leaving the Scene, Car Chase

car chaseThe trooper dispatch revealed that after a long chase, they were able to apprehend a driver that had previously been reported in a accident in Wasilla on Tuesday evening.

Troopers were notified of a driver operating their vehicle erratically on the Glenn Highway, the suspect vehicle had been reported as leaving the scene of an accident responded to by the Wasilla Police Department at shortly after 4 pm on Tuesday. After fleeing the scene of an injury accident on Lucille Street in Wasilla, the vehicle was reported again in a REDDI report as it traveled southbound on the Glenn.

Troopers came in contact with the suspect vehicle at mile 30 of the Glenn Highway and attempted a traffic stop. But, the vehicle ignored the troopers and continued southbound. As troopers pursued with sirens and lights, the vehicle led them on the Glenn until the driver, identified as 24-year-old Brandi Baker of Wasilla, came to a stop near Eklutna. 

The resulting investigation would find that Baker had been operating her vehicle, a 2011 Ford Fusion while her license was revoked and under the influence. Her license was revoked for a previous DUI in 2015.

Baker was arrested and charged with DWLR, DUI, Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer II, and Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident.

She was transported to Palmer where she was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with her bail set at $3,500 and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
