A Soldotna man was arrested on multiple charges after troopers received several calls reporting a collision of a vehicle, described as a black Chevy pickup, and a light pole near mile 81 of the Sterling Highway on Tuesday morning.
Callers reported that after colliding with the light-pole, the driver fled the scene in his vehicle, traveling south-bound towards Soldotna.
Troopers responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. They report that they located a black GMC pickup parked on a trail near a driveway at mile 87 of the Sterling Highway. The driver of the vehicle was also on the scene when troopers located the vehicle. The driver was identified as 25-year-old Arnold Sipes of Soldotna. The investigation resulted “in the arrest of Sipes for Driving While License Revoked, Driving in Violation of a License Limitation, Fail to Give Immediate Notice of a Motor Vehicle Collision, and Reckless Driving,” the trooper dispatch revealed.
Sipes was transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility and the vehicle was released to a friend.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
