Six days after his unexplained disappearance, Palmer teen, 16-year-old David Grunwald, remains missing.

Grunwald was expected home by 9:20 PM on Sunday evening, but never arrived. When he failed to show up at the prescribed time, his mother, Edith Grunwald, describing David as “punctual,” reported him missing.

According to his mother, David had said that he was going to stop by a friends house before returning home, he never did. The last time that he was reported being seen, was when he was dropping his girlfriend off at her home, off of Smith Road in Palmer. This was reported to have happened between 6:30 and 7 PM on Sunday.

David’s friend said that David was supposed to stop by his house before going home on Sunday evening, but he never did.

On Monday afternoon, at approximately 12:30 PM, David’s Ford Bronco was located on Baldy Trail off of Solitude Street and Sitze Road in Wasilla. When found, it was burned up.

David is described as approximately 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, and has short brown hair, and blue eyes. When last seen, he was wearing an orange North Face jacket, jeans, and tennis shoes.

Volunteers are organizing a large search effort for Saturday at 11 am, volunteers are to meet at the First Baptist Church, behind The Noisy Goose restaurant in Palmer, across from the main entrance of the state fairgrounds. Volunteer searchers are advised to dress warmly, to bring personal snacks and water, and to have a fully charged cell phone.
