Anchorage Hitch-Hiker Holds Driver at Gunpoint, Steals Car

A driver in Anchorage, who picked up a hitch-hiker on Sunday, fell victim to his rider, the Anchorage Police Department revealed on Tuesday morning.

According to the police. the victim reported picking up 25-year-old Brendon Wesley Adam Valdez near 36th and Dorbrandt Street at approximately 9 pm on Sunday night. The victim then proceeded to drive Valdez around to several locations in the city. “At some point a third male got into the vehicle,” police said. It was then that Valdez produced a firearm and ordered the victim to move to the passenger seat of the vehicle, and with the weapon pointed at the victim, continued driving around town.

It wasn’t until several hours later, that the victim was let out of the car near the Old Seward Highway and Dowling Road, and the two suspects took off with the vehicle.

Police say that the victim, who they declined to name, waited until Monday night at 7:59 pm, to report the incident to police. Police did not reveal why there was such a long delay.[xyz-ihs snippet=”adsense-body-ad”]

Following the reporting of the incident by the victim, a felony arrest warrant was issued against Valdez on charges of “Robbery I, Assault 3, Kidnapping, Vehicle Theft 1, and Theft 2.” It was also found during the investigation, that Valdez was the subject of two additional warrants for felony probation violations.
