The autopsy reports on the two men found deceased on separate boats in Kodiak's St Herman and St Paul Harbors showed that both men died from heroin overdoses it was revealed.

It was also reported by investigators in Kodiak that one of the bodies was found near drug paraphenalia. Although authorities found no relationship between the two men, they are seeking information on the whereabouts of the two men eight to ten hours prior to their deaths.

David Babarovich was found during the early morning hours of April 19 at approximately 2:22 am at the St Herman boat harbor aboard the Alaska Patriot.

It was about twelve hours later that the body of Thaddeus Zdobylak was discovered on a vessel in the St Paul Harbor aboard the fishing vessel Columbia at 2:37 pm.
