A Search conducted Tuesday and Wednesday on Akutan for a missing employee from Trident Seafoods resulted in the recovery of that woman’s body troopers report.

Troopers were alerted that 30-year-old Bakersfield, California resident Yuliana Zazueca did not show up to work her shift and could not be located at 1:50 pm on Tuesday. Trident Seafood resources, searchers from the Aleutians Eaast Borough and Dutch Harbor-based Wildlife Troopers conducted an island-wide search for Zazueca. On Wednesday, at approximately 11 am, Zazueca’s remains were located.

Troopers did not reveal where on the island Zazueca was found nor did they reveal how she had died. But, they did say that they did not suspect foul play in her death. Her remains will be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy.

Zazueca’s next of kin were notified of her passing.
