Sunday afternoon, the body of the man who has been the target of a search over the weekend, was discovered by searchers dragging the Eenayarak River.
It was reported at about noon on Friday that 34-year-old Yako Fisher of Kwethluk was overdue from a berry-picking trip with his wife on the Eenayarak River. The trip had taken them about 25 miles upstream freom the Kuskokwim and north of Eek.
Fisher was last seen headed downstream in his 16 foot Lund skiff powered by a 60 hp Yamaha.

After he was reported overdue, Alaska State troopers launched an aircraft to the area and initiated a ground search as well.
About 9 pm on Friday, Fisher’s skiff was located on the Eenayarak River about 12-13 miles above the Kuskokwim River.
Heavy rains and high winds hampered the search efforts that continued through Saturday and Sunday.
Fisher’s body was discovered by searchers at about 3:30 yesterday as they drug the bottom of the river searching for Fisher.
Alaska State troopers responded to the area where Fisher was found yesterday and the State Medical Examiner was notified of the death.
Fisher’s body will be transported to Anchorage to undergo autopsy in an effort to discover cause of death.
Next of kin has been notified.
