Late Thursday night, Anchor Point-based Alaska State Troopers responded to a single vehicle roll-over that involved a vehicle that was previously reported in a REDDI report, the trooper dispatch revealed on Friday.
Troopers responded to the crash site at mile 154 of the Sterling Highway at 9:33 pm to find a red 1993 Jeep rolled over, and as they approached the crash site, observed a person believed to be the driver, leaving the scene as a passenger in a truck.
Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the truck and positively identified 44-year-old Anchor Point resident, Sean J. Burns, as the driver of the Jeep. The trooper investigation at the scene determined that Burns was driving under the influence and so was arrested for DUI.
A passenger in the Jeep was identified, they declined medical attention, and so was released from the scene.
Burns was transported to Homer where he was remanded to the jail there and held without bail until arraignment.
