Alaska State Troopers state that they responded to a roll-over accident at mile 13 of Homer’s East End Road on Monday morning and found that the driver, 39-year-old Jill Davis of Anchor Point had suffered injuries in the accident.
The trooper investigation at the scene revealed that Davis had been driving on the road to the northeast of Homer when she failed to negotiate a turn, left the highway, and rolled several times. When she rolled, she impacted a power pole. She had to be extricated from the vehicle.
Davis was transported to the South Peninsula Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The crash caused a power outage in the area. Homer Electric Association linemen responded to the scene to perform repairs to restore power.
Troopers say that they suspect that alcohol was a factor in the incident. They report that the investigation is on-going.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
