When identifying the three people there, one of the individuals gave troopers a false name. But, troopers were soon able to identify that person as 54-year-old Wesley B. Buerkle of Anchorage.
Further investigation into Buerkle would find that he had two felony warrants for his arrest. Both warrants were issued in mid-October of 2012. One of the warrants was for failure to appear for a pre-indictment hearing on the original charge of Controlled Substance IV, that warrant had bail set at $20,000 and a third-party custodian and conditions of release. Buerkle’s second warrant was for Escape II with bail set at $1,000 and a Third-Party Custodian.
Buerkle was arrested on the warrants and further charged with Providing False Information. Buerkle was transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.
