One year after being charged with fishing during a closed season during last year's Sitka Herring harvest, the skipper of the Star Shadow, Joe Lindholm, and Permit-holder, William Glenovich appeared in court.
The two appeared in court for a non-jury trial for the case.
As a result of the non-jury trial, Lindholm and Glenovich were found guilty of the charges.
Lindholm was ordered to pay $9,000, $6,000 of which was suspended. He also was placed on probation for a period of one year.
Glenovich, for his part, was ordered to pay $3,000. $2,500 of which was suspended. He was also placed on probation for one year.
Their catch, which was valued at $27,000, was forfeited to the State of Alaska.
