Alaska State Troopers are investigating a fatal accident involving a 3-year-old girl that occurred on Saturday, but do not suspect foul play in the incident troopers report.
On Saturday afternoon, a three-year-old child in Lower Kalskag was playing on a 16-foot skiff that was leaned against a building in that village when the boat tipped over from the building trapping her underneath.
After the unfortunate accident, the child was taken to the Lower Kalskag Clinic for treatment, but succumbed to her injuries at 3:20 pm that afternoon. Troopers were notified of the accident at 3:54 pm.
The remains of the young child, who’s identity has not been revealed because her next of kin have yet to be notified, were transported to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy.
