Nome Raid Nets Ten Grams of Heroin

drug bustThe Alaska State Trooper dispatch said on Monday that arrests made on Thursday concluded a yearlong investigation by Alaska State Trooper’s Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team’s into illegal sales and distribution of heroin in the Nome Region.

It was on Thursday that WAANT teams from Nome, Kotzebue, and Anchorage, and Nome troopers, police and a Nome K9 unit executed a search warrant on a Nome residence for suspected heroin sales. The execution of the warrant produced ten grams of suspected heroin packaged for sale.

The operation resulted in the arrest of Yvonne Adkison and Kevin Beamish, both 22-years of age and both from Nome. Both were charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance II and IV.

Authorities seized the suspected heroin, items used for the sale of heroin and the proceeds.
