A North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman, on Wednesday, promised "strong military counteraction" after the U.S. carried out it second fly-over of its nuclear payload capable B-52 on Tuesday during a training mission in the "Foal Eagle" joint training operations in South Korea.
The B-52, based out of Guam, carried out its training mission practicing dropping bombs at a range in South Korea as part of the annual joint military drills carried out by South Korea and the United States. Calling the b-52 mission routine, Petagon spokesman George Little said that the flights send a “very strong signal” that the U.S. is committed to South Korea. He added that the U.S. is “drawing attention to the fact we have extended deterrence capabilities that we believe are important in the wake of recent North Korean rhetoric.”
