Old Glenn Highway Rollover takes the Life of One

A single vehicle rollover on the Old Glenn Highway took the life of the driver late Sunday night according to the trooper dispatch.

Alaska State troopers as well is troopers with the Bureau of Highway Patrol responded to an accident at mile 12.8 of the old Glenn Highway shortly after 9 PM on Sunday night. When they arrived at the scene, they found that the 2002 Ford Expedition had rolled several times as it was traveling southbound on the highway.

The driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Claudia R. Jacobs of Palmer, was killed in the accident, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 10-year-old passenger in the vehicle, suffered minor injuries in the incident. The 10-year-old was taken to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, treated, and released.

Trooper’s report that both individuals were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Jacobs’ next of kinwere notified of the incident. The investigation into the cause of the rollover is under investigation.
