After receiving a tip from the Microsoft Corporation, the Alaska Bureau of Investigation opened an investigation concerning distribution of Child Sexual Abuse via a Palmer email address on August 19th, 2014.

The investigation, using information from Microsoft, zeroed in on the residence where the Child Pornography was reported to have taken place, ABI applied for and received a search warrant for the Palmer address. On Wednesday, the search warrant was executed at the residence and evidence was seized there that corroborated the allegations made by Microsoft. As a result of the warrant, 34-year-old Palmer resident, Brandon Muston was arrested on four counts of Felony Possession of Child Pornography.

Muston was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility, where he was remanded and his bail set at $15,000 plus a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.

Muston was arraigned on the charges the same afternoon and was appointed a Public Defender. Muston’s next court date is scheduled for January 30th in Palmer court.
